It also has some other features like a task organizer, spam email protection, calendar reminders, and contacts. Sometimes, there occurs an error that might cut off our business and personal life. Many users have reported the issue and if you are one of them then, do not get panic!

You can fix the error on the Outlook app by following the simple methods mentioned below:

1. Change Your Email Sorting Options

The first method to resolve this error is to sort your emails. It can be done by changing the email sorting order in Outlook. To do so, follow the simple steps:

  1. Head to the Outlook app and log in to your account
  2. Now, click the inbox option placed on the left side
  3. Click the sort by text and tap the Date option
  4. Choose Newest on Top placed at the bottom menu. Also, use the arrow icon placed next to the sort selection to change between ascending or descending.

That’s it now, your recently received email will appear at the top of your inbox. It is not always a server issue and emails are there but you can not see them.

2. Check the Spam Folder in Outlook

The second method to resolve this error is to check the Spam folder in Outlook. It has a spam-filtering option that sends junk and suspicious emails to the Spam folder. To do so, follow the simple steps:

  1. Head to the Outlook app and log in to your account
  2. Choose the spam option placed on the left sidebar
  3. You will see a list of spam emails and if you found an email, right-click on it and choose Junk > click Not Junk
  4. Before email moves back to the inbox, Outlook will ask if you want to always trust emails from that sender. Check the box if this is the case > then, click OK.

3. Ensure the Sender is not on your Blocklist

The third method to resolve this issue is to ensure that sender is not on your blocked list. You can check the list by following the simple steps given below:

  1. Head to the Outlook app and log in to your account
  2. Choose the Home tab placed on the top and tap Junk
  3. Select the Junk E-mail Options from a menu that opens up
  4. Choose the Blocked Senders to check a list of people that you have blocked
  5. If you see a person in a list then, click his name > select Remove. This will remove them from the blocked list, so you can receive their emails. 

4. Disable Offline Mode in Outlook

Another method to resolve this error is to disable the offline mode in Outlook. However,  Microsoft Outlook tools, also called Work Offline that lets you disconnect from the server when you do not want to receive new emails. So, enable this option to receive emails. To do so, follow the simple steps:

  1. Head to the Outlook app and log in to your account
  2. Click the Send/Receive tab placed at the top and choose Work Offline placed in the Preferences section

That’s it, it is now back to online mode, wait a minute or two for it to refresh itself.

5. Clear the Outlook Cache

The last but least method to resolve this error is to clear the cache of the app as it saves all cache files on a PC to improve its performance. The cache that has been piled up might affect the speed of the app so, clearing it might resolve the error. To do so, follow the simple steps:

  1. Press Window + R keys simultaneously to open up a Run Dialog box
  2. Type the following command and hit Enter: %localappdata%\Microsoft\Outlook
  3. File Explorer will open up on a screen and choose the RoamCache option as your Outlook cache files will be located in it.
  4. Press Ctrl + A to select all the cache files then, simply, right-click any file > choose Delete (Or just press the Delete button on your keyboard)
  5. If this fixed your issue then, make sure to delete these files from the Recycle Bin too to free up some space.
