  3. Choose the Restart option to restart a PC

Use Windows Memory Diagnostic

Windows 11 is preloaded with a tool known as Windows Memory Diagnostic. One can utilize this tool to find and fix problems with the RAM of a PC. This tool detects this issue with memory. You do not need to be computer-savvy to utilize this tool. Well, to do so, follow the steps given below:

  1. Head to the Start Menu and search Windows Memory Diagnostic in a search bar, select it
  2. Choose the Restart now and check for problems (recommended) option from a list
  3. PC will restart and the tool will try and fixes the memory issues.

Close the Problematic App

Sometimes, problematic apps that you installed cause memory leakage issues to occur on your system. These apps usually eat up all your RAM and leave no memory behind for other apps. Disable Startup Programs

  3. Choose the Startup placed on the left side 
  4. Find the app that you do not want to launch is placed on a right pane
  5. Click the toggle button to make it turn off. Repeat the process for each app you do not want to launch when turning on your device

Update Your Device Drivers

Out of date device drivers may cause a memory leakage issue. If this issue occurs on your PC, you should update the drivers to resolve the issue. It is free of cost and is easy to update the drivers on a Windows PC. To do so, follow the simple steps:

  1. Head to the Start menu and search the device manager on a search bar
  2. Find the device you want to update the drivers for on a device manager window. Also, you need to update the sound, graphics, and network drivers to fix the memory leakage issue.
  3. Right-click your device and select the Update driver option
  4. Click Search automatically for drivers to search for the latest drivers on your PC automatically
  5. Install the new drivers if available
  6. Restart your PC when drivers are installed 

However, if you use an Nvidia graphics card then, you can update the drivers manually.

Run an Antivirus Scan

Sometimes, a virus or malware uses the entire memory that caused the memory leakage. In such a case, an antivirus tool can help you to find and remove viruses from a PC. If you can use a third-party antivirus app then, you can use it too. To do so, follow the steps given below:

  1. Head to the Start menu and search the Windows Security in a search bar
  2. Click Virus & threat protection placed on the left side 
  3. Choose the Scan options placed on the right side. Select the full scan option then, choose scan now
  4. Wait for the antivirus to scan a PC

Disable Sysmain

Sysmain is a feature that preloads the frequently used apps in RAM automatically. This makes launching those runs faster. If you experience RAM-related issues then, disabling it is a good option to check out whether it works or not. You can also re-enable this feature later. To do so, follow the steps:

  1. Open the run box by pressing Windows + R keys together
  2. Type the following command in a search bar and hit enter: services.msc
  3. Find sysmain on a services window, right-click it and select Stop
  4. Then, again right-click the service window and select properties 
  5. Select disabled from the dropdown menu then, select apply > then, choose OK placed at the bottom.
  6. Close the services window.
