In order to make a conference call, firstly, you need to connect with a single contact then, add participants to the call at once. To do so, follow the steps given below:

  1. Head to the ‘Phone’ app either from the home screen (or from the app library of the iPhone).
  2. Either tap a recently contacted contact or locate one from the contact list to initiate a call.
  3. When the call is connected, tap the ‘Add call’ button placed on a screen. This will open a separate overlay screen on your screen.
  4. Now, initiate another call (from the separately opened window) either tap contact from the ‘Recents’ tab or initiate a call from the ‘Contacts’ tab.
  5. When a call is connected with the second contact, click the ‘Merge call’ button placed on a screen to merge both the calls jointly.
  6. To add more participants to a call, repeat the above steps and merge the call again. Keep in mind that the limit of total participants differs from country to country. The majority of countries allow 5 people on a call.
  7. If you are receiving the call of one of the participants, you wish to add to the conference call. Then, tap the ‘Hold & Accept call’ option on a screen to pick up the call without hanging up the ongoing call.
  8. Now, tap the ‘Merge call’ button to connect the participant with the ongoing call.
  9. On a conference call, you can either disconnect individual participants. Or have a conversation with them privately without disconnecting the ongoing call.
  10. On the ongoing call screen, tap the ‘i’ button placed on the right side next to the caller information to proceed.

Private Conversation

To converse privately with another contact, 

  1. Click the ‘Private’ button placed under each contact name.
  2. In case you wish to disconnect a single participant from a call then, tap the ‘End’ button to remove the individual participant.
